Simply put, HSK 3.0 is an upgraded version of the Mandarin proficiency exam, now designed to be much more comprehensive. While the old system had only 6 levels, the standard has been “leveled up” to 9 levels!

This 9-level system is divided into three major categories:

• Primary (Level 1-3)

• Intermediate (Level 4-6)

• Advanced (Level 7-9)
